What is your favorite city for events and why?

I have to say that if you are looking for a new incentive destination - check out the Okanagan Valley.

The world is my oyster and I shall not go hungry. It’s wonderful to be able to leverage today’s technology to be able to meet, connect and plan events all over the world.

Of course, I am biased in that I believe Canada is the best country for events and further to that the west coast. I love the variety of venues and professional supplier partners that are doing great work in Vancouver. However, I have to say that if you are looking for a new incentive destination – check out the Okanagan Valley.

The Okanagan Valley is very much like Napa Valley but further North. It is in the South West area of British Columbia and is defined by the many lovely areas surrounding Okanagan Lake. The region is known for its dry, sunny climate, dry landscapes, and lakeshore communities and particularly fun lifestyle. Its primary city is Kelowna and it’s known as the second-largest wine region in Canada, with beaches and ski hills both available a short distance away to keep your event attendees engaged and intrigued. While I wouldn’t say I have a favorite city per se, I have cities where I have more personal connections with vendors than in other cities. Choosing which city to take my clients to really starts with which city is the right one for the objective of their event…, then I either use connections I have or work to make new ones.

Sometimes the objective of an event fits with the cities I’ve been to a lot, like San Francisco or Chicago, and other times I watch a TV show or read a magazine that shows a city that has a lot of interest to me. Last year I was really attracted to Austin and we ended up hosting four programs there that the clients all loved.

Las Vegas - as a proud local I’ve watched this city grow and evolve for over 25 years.

Las Vegas – as a proud local I’ve watched this city grow and evolve for over 25 years. Its one of the only destination cities that can really accommodate large scale events. As of today, we have 150,000 hotel rooms and 12 million sq. ft. of exhibit & meeting space and much more coming in 2020-21.

Attendees also love Las Vegas. Events held here always see an increase in attendance. We have beautiful weather 320 days out of the year, easy access to the airport, and more than enough space to accommodate just about anything.

What is most gratifying to me, is to see the world start to understand just how fabulous Toronto is.

As a Torontonian born and raised, I have a real connection with the city. But what is most gratifying to me, is to see the world start to understand just how fabulous Toronto is. It’s a city that can rival any of the largest in the world – New York, London – for choices and there’s something for everyone to see and do.

The City of Angels of course! Los Angeles is home to some of the most creative vendors and epic entertainers in the world. We are constantly coming across unique activations and one-of-a-kind experiences. Not to mention we have a melting pot of venues, so there is something for everyone and plenty of options to mix things up year after year.

You could have dinner under a space shuttle, a meeting aboard a historic ship, a summer party on the beach, or a holiday party at a mansion in the Hollywood Hills! We’ve got it all and within a 30-mile radius!

When January rolls around and the temperature drops, we always love a great event in a hot destination like the Bahamas!

Las Vegas is truly a special place, and it is the new entertainment capital of the world.

Las Vegas is my favorite city for events. There is so much here, and it’s a vast playground. The resources, the people, and the creativity are endless. It’s no longer about creating an event at a resort or casino. You can go off the strip and do something unique that still makes you feel like you’re in the heart of the city. Las Vegas is truly a special place, and it is the new entertainment capital of the world.

If done correctly, an event or program can be successful anywhere.

Truthfully, no particular city has an impact on the success of an event in my opinion. I have worked with great clients on very different programs in a range of cities. One just has to appropriately vet the vendors and venues involved in a particular location. If done correctly, an event or program can be successful anywhere.

I have done events primarily on the East Side of Arizona, as that is where I have done the majority of my networking.

I have had a great experience in the East Valley, however, I feel that is because I’ve built a relationship with the venue contact, which helps the communication and overall production of the event become a success.

My favorite city I've planned an event in is Toronto.

My favorite city I’ve planned an event in is Toronto. It’s a gorgeous city, with lovely people, and countless opportunities–especially in the cannabis industry, which is the type of event I was planning at the time. The public transportation system to and from the airport is easy and inexpensive, and the city itself has so many experiences to offer attendees.
