Seven of Sage Creative provides design services for events including weddings, showers, and proposals. Through backdrops, selfie stations, custom signs, and decor rental, we want to help our customers create budget-friendly designs and experiences for their guests.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced while planning an event and how did you overcome it?
One of my most challenging experiences has been to design a proposal in a location that I had never seen! We devised an elaborate plan for the surprise proposal on New Year’s Eve.
My customer rented an Airbnb as the proposal location so the bride wouldn’t know the proposal was in order (so clever!). I could only arrive at the location two hours in advance for the setup and coordination of their friends and family who were attending.
Looking back, I believe I moved every single piece of furniture to not only accommodate the guests but also make room to achieve their theme! Of course, the proposal was absolutely perfect and all their pictures have a beautiful backdrop.
What are 2 trends in the event planning industry that you’re excited about?
First, I love the trend of events becoming more green and eco-conscious. As a company that rents event decor, reusing and making new is part of our mission! The wedding industry is especially large – any steps we individually take to reduce waste will result in a large impact.
The second trend I love is photo booths at weddings! For any bride or groom who is interested in adding something special and personal to their reception, I always suggest our selfie stations. This allows your guests to join the fun and provides them with instant keepsakes rather than favors, which don’t often even leave the table!
What are some tips for creating an elegant and memorable event on a tight budget?
As a wedding vendor, I expect that all my customers have a set budget because weddings are expensive! I suggest that any couple with a tight budget begin by making a list of their priorities and begin researching. Read articles and blogs about budget weddings and talk to friends for vendor referrals.

If you had unlimited resources, what would your dream client and event look like?
My dream client views their wedding as an unforgettable experience for both them and their guests. I love when a couple wants to show their personality in every aspect of the day. I believe the magic is in the details. There are so many ways to incorporate both timeless trends and fun, I become so excited when a couple wants to do something unique to them. A donut wall? A custom photo backdrop? Funny and endearing signs? That’s what makes a wedding day truly yours.
What’s the most exciting thing on the horizon for you personally or professionally?
I’m most excited to spend more time blogging on my website. My favorite aspect of owning a business is meeting new clients and hearing their genuine excitement for their upcoming wedding. At the same time, many brides and grooms are also overwhelmed with the process and expense of planning.
Through blogging, I want to offer professional advice and realistic ideas that every couple can utilize in their planning.
