What are 2 trends in the event planning industry that you’re excited about?
First, I am incredibly excited about creating an intimate wedding day experience! Novalee Events Co. offers the “Elopement Nouveau” which is a modern approach to traditional elopements. This intimate wedding is a personalized, smaller celebration that values the desire for intimacy, while still relishing in the frills of a larger, luxurious wedding.
Secondly, I am thrilled about the trend to incorporate sustainability into the planning journey and wedding day! Choosing locally-sourced vendors, staying clear of decor items that are not environmentally-friendly, and taking the initiative to limit the wedding waste are all wonderfully active approaches to re-think the role of weddings on our environment!
If you had unlimited resources, what would your dream client and event look like?
At Novalee Events Co, my design passion has always been rooted in creating the essence of understated elegance. Where design elements were chosen for their effortlessly beautiful and stunning nature. Words that I would use to describe my dream event are timeless, classy, refined, and a magnificent balance of luxury and understated elegance!
What advice would you give someone who needs to plan a fundraiser but isn’t sure where to start?
Whether it is a fundraiser, special or corporate event, my planning advice would be to focus on the macro-level first. What is the goal of the event? What is the design vision? Who would you like to collaborate with to help carry your vision and goals to fruition? What is your expected guest count?
These questions (and others) serve as a pivotal starting point for your planning endeavor. By addressing these, you will begin to navigate to the micro-level of the planning process.
What inspired you to launch your own company in the event industry? How long did it take from initially having the idea to setting up and starting to attract a client base?
Personally, I have always had a passion to create thoughtfully unique events where details, whether big or small, played a role in telling a beautiful story. My drive has always been to create an immersive event experience. As clients and guests take in the event, they will undoubtedly see subtle and elaborate details that were intentionally chosen with purpose.
From initially having the idea to setting up and starting to attract a client base, this stage intentionally took about 8 months. For my business, it was critical that we have well-structured and proven processes in place from inception. Therefore, we incorporated planning procedures that were extensively thorough and creative design strategies that were systematically structured as well as innovative!

I have adopted a refined approach to event planning and creative design. I place significant value on building relationships with my clients. By getting to know them personally, I am in a position to create and execute a celebration that is distinctive and personalized!
