What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced while planning an event and how did you overcome it?

Doing multiple events in a day. I overcame it because of the relationships I had developed with people I could depend on.

What are 2 trends in the event planning industry that you’re excited about?

Ever-changing food and décor – keeps things fresh!

What are some tips for creating an elegant and memorable event on a tight budget?

Concentrate on the most important elements to the client and spend the dollars there.

If you had unlimited resources, what would your dream client and event look like?

It would be a major corporation or celebrity client with top-notch vegas-style entertainment, exquisite linens and florals and a 6 to 8-course tasting menu of foods from around the world.

The lighting would enhance the venue and add dimension and depth. Each guest would leave with a swag bag of name brand hi-end items.

How important are your relationships with vendors and what are some ways that you successfully cultivate and ensure good rapport?

I treat my vendors with respect not as if they are my servants. I try and give them as much information and leeway to ensure a smooth event.

What advice would you give someone who needs to plan a fundraiser but isn’t sure where to start?

Do your research…always. Look at what has been done in the past and then turn up the volume!

What’s the most exciting thing on the horizon for you personally or professionally?

Expanding my business and developing my brand.

What inspired you to launch your own company in the event industry? How long did it take from initially having the idea to setting up and starting to attract a client base?

After working for a handful of companies and learning the business from the ground floor I always had a bigger vision for myself to launch my own company. I needed the experiences I had and the learning process to expand upon what I know to make it what I wanted it to be.

What’s the first event you can ever remember planning and how did it go?

I began planning for family and friends when I was 20 years old. I have always been a great cook so I cooked and decorated for a family event and it went off as a grand success.

What are some things you wished you knew before starting your businesses?

The challenge of finding people with my work ethic and sense of responsibility and creativity. People that look at the big picture not just the task at hand.

What’s the most surprising or unusual request you have ever received from a client and were you able to fulfill it?

Live circus animals at an indoor event…and we did it!

Anything else you’d like to comment on while we have you?

I love the business! I am following my passion.
